We sure are going to miss you when you leave.

This is my message to my 21 year old daughter who is presently living with us. I only have her for two more weeks and then she leaves to go back to college.

The kids have really enjoyed having her here and I'm sure they will miss her terribly when she leaves. She is moving to Spain for the next 6 months to attend college there. I'm so proud of her! This will be such an awesome experience.

But who will the triplets beat up when she is not here? They look so forward to that. I will either get them a punching bag, or tell them to wait until their father gets home, because trust me, I will not be taking Audrey's place.

And to change the subject... I was looking around the house today and noticing all the things we have to tie shut, block off, move away and secure for the normal "triplet storms" we have around here. It really is quite humorous when you take a good look around.

Door knob covers? I not only have to have them, but I have to duct tape them closed because they have figured out how to pop them apart.

Baby gates? HA! These no longer work - my kids just plow through them, knocking the gate away from the door frame.

I could keep going... oh trust me.

This is what we have to do to the refrigerator door every night. The cord is tied three times because I figure that will take longer for them to get it undone and it will give me a chance to get there before anything is taken out and poured all over the floor. ( Chicken Stew does not easily come out of carpet. I know that for a fact.)

Christmas is over

And I'm just now getting to my Christmas post. Better late than never, right?

We had a fun Christmas celebration. Christmas eve was spent at David's parents house. Christmas morning, we spent at home enjoying the kids. Christmas day was spent at my parent's house.

Christmas night, I crashed. Boy was I tired!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the kids.

Little Miss Santa

Ohhhh lookie!

What a smile!

Luke with his cowboy hat, eating a snack at Mimi's house.

Wade, in his hat, sampling some Christmas goodies.

And here is David. I think he will always be a kid at heart.

Fun day building bears!

Build-A-Bear was a fantastic idea, wasn't it?

We went today with the kids and the place was packed! What a genius idea someone had. I wish I had thought of it. It would be nice to be a millionaire. sigh, oh well.

The kids had a great time. Thanks Mimi for buying them all a bear... or dog... or snowman...
We love you!

Quick!! Go buy some bread and milk!

That's what us southerners do when it's going to snow.

I've never really understood why those things are what we must have when it snows. I mean, don't people usually have a freezer with frozen pizzas or something, and a pantry with soup and chips? Pop tarts. Don't people usually have pop tarts on hand? Why do we stand in long lines at the grocery store for bread and milk? And good luck finding bread and milk here in the south if they are calling for snow. The supplies go down fast.

And thinking even more on this - even if it does snow here, it's a short duration and usually within a day or two all the snow has melted away. Most times it melts away the same afternoon. I just don't get it. I like milk and I like bread, but I can do without it for a day or two.

But when the weather report said snow, that's the first thing I thought of. "Do I have bread and milk?"

Well, we DID have a beautiful snow yesterday and through the night. We had about 12 inches and snow drifts around 2 feet high. This is the biggest snow we have seen in... probably 6 or 7 years, at least. I love snow!

We bundled up the kids today and let them play. David hooked up the sled to the 4-wheeler but the snow was so deep the sled would tilt on it's side. Zoe was the only one who kept riding. The boys didn't like the tilt.

Yes. She is wearing socks for gloves. I'm ashamed.

Now this picture still cracks me up every time I look at it. David was pulling Zoe. Everything was going fine until the sled tilted and she rolled off. David was clueless that she was gone until I waved to get his attention to stop. All I could see was the top of her head as she was laying down in the hole her body made when she fell.

Now, I really need the snow to melt away so I can go to the store. I'm out of bread and milk.

Seriously.

Anyone have a mouth prop I can borrow?

As we were getting the kids ready for bed the other night, I told David what was left to be done.
He told me he would help them use the bathroom and I could do their teeth.

uh huh

He has helped them brush their teeth before. He knows what it is like. So I kind of feel like he took the easy way out.

So tonight as we were again getting the kids ready for bed, I asked David to take some pictures of what we go through with Luke.

It's like trying to pry open a lid that has been cemented shut.

Or like trying to get a square peg into a round hole.

Or like wearing a blind fold and feeling your way around.

Because Luke will not show you his teeth. He curls his lips down as tight as he can over them.
Even with Zoe giving him pointers "Luke, look at me! Look at me!" Look what I'm doing!

The McCormick Makeovers

Tonight I had a "wild hair" and decided to give the boys wild hair.

No, it's not really that wild, but based on what the little men have sported since birth, it can be classified as wild ( by our standards I guess).

I'm planning on trimming Luke's a bit more tomorrow. I didn't go quite short enough on top. He has the type hair that is fine and thin and it doesn't stand up well. Tomorrow morning it will be flat as a flitter. I'm almost sure of it.

Before

After

Wade has thick hair that is full of body. His does very well and will stand up perfectly.

Before

After

I think they look stinkin' cute. A little meaner...but cute nonetheless.

Now if anyone can recommend a good hair product ( ehem...Mama Shannon) that will work to keep their hair from falling over, I'm all ears!

I'm head over heels in love!!!!!!!

With Mr.Clean

Here is a picture of the boy's room. Actually it's Wade's room but Luke is his roommate for an undetermined amount of time. We are still trying to convince Luke that the darkness will not hurt him and that he is not alone. But that is a whole other blog post...

David and I worked really long and hard on these rooms. And they looked so fresh and pretty.

Until last week.

Here is a close up of the markings on the walls. And I must say ALL the walls.

All the walls.

And this little evil gadget is what caused the marks on all the walls.
It's one of those little magnet things used with the magnedoodle.

Oh yeah, I see you Luke with your ear band on...looking so sweet while you're watching your show.

And you, Wade, while you're hugged up to daddy's leg... all sweet and innocent.

And Zoe...with your little smirky eye look.

So go ahead and relax and enjoy your evening. I wouldn't want to bother you. I'm going on a date with Mr. Clean. We will be down the hall enjoying our time together.

But, seriously...this product ROCKS! I'm in awe of how well it instantly removes all the black marks. It is the only thing that has worked on the walls. Thanks mom for mentioning this. You and Mr. Clean are a life saver!
